We actually don't know much about knitting that early! Any patterns from this period are modern back-workings from historic survivors in museums. And it's mostly going to be socks and undergarments, which modern knitters aren't always into! Someone did work out the pretty pattern on the Charles I beheading undershirt in this historic pattern collection. But the classic history of knitting is the Richard Rutt book which is out of print unfortunately.

How advanced of a knitter is your friend? Does she like lace knitting? There's some nice historish collections of Shetland lace patterns.

Unfortunately I can't say for sure since I saw it some years ago but if any evidence exist on public display that would be the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. They have an extensive fabrics and clothes collection, As I said I can't recall if Tudor age examples were there but if you are nearby is worth a visit.
