In respect to France, it had little to no effect.
The French Revolution has two major causes, the impending bankruptcy of the Crown and the push of the Middle class to have more participation in government. However these two causes would spin out of control relatively quickly.
An important issue for all non nobles was that of legal equality under the law. This would be something that America didn't pursue since they worked for legal freedom, both might be related but not inheritly the same.
Ironically, the American Revolution had little influence on the push for democracy since there was linguistic and cultural separation of America from Europe. The larger influence should be the French Revolution which was spoken in the near universal language of science and culture as well as being actively exported during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars..
