Hitler was obsessed with using anything and everything as a symbol of power, including art and architecture. This is evident in the monolithic structures he built. While I am not sure what the Nazis' opinions were on Art Deco itself, I know they greatly admired classical Greek and Roman architecture and art styles since they represented far-flung and long-lasting empires of power.
