Historiography

by Polaress

Hey guys I was hopping that you could give me some historian's views on the American Revolution?

I think you're going to be a bit more specific than this. Are you asking about the historiography(how the history of the revolution has been written)? Or are you asking about the actual history? Regardless of which, you may also have to provide a specific aspect of that because it's a large topic.

I would start your investigation with the Bibliographical notes chapter of Robert Middlekauff's The Glorious Cause: The American Revolution, 1763-1789, as this provides an extensive overview of the subject area up until the 1980s (as well as in general being a very good book on the topic). As it stands your question is pretty huge in scope, so this, and any academic review essays on your subtopic, as the best places to start.
