Paging /u/Domini_canes, Some of their historical interests deal with Pope Pius XII, the Pope that was the head of the Roman Catholic Church from 1939 - 1958 so would've had to deal with the Nazi's at their height & at their fall. Pius XII had to head the Reichskonkordat, the treaty between Nazi Germany & the Holy See of Vatican City.

From what i have read the Nazis had an interesting relationship with religion. For example Himmler had Atheists banned from the ranks of the SS whilst other branches of the German Reich welcomed them. The Nazis supported the Protestant Reich Church but behind the curtain Hitler believed that the alliance with Christianity would not last forever and that in his thousand year Reich Christianity would eventually fade away. Hitler was raised a Catholic but was not really a complete one as the years went on, apparently he said how the only thing he admired of the religion was how well it was organised. On top of this Himmler was apparently attempting to start an "SS Cult" that was based off of Germanic Paganism, holding rituals on the winter solstice etc. But Hitler wanted nothing to do with Himmlers cult. Religion was a bit messy in Nazi Germany
