Hey there everyone,
Just wanted to know how long it took for people around the globe to be aware of the discovery of the new continent? Also, once they were aware of this, was there any plan from other countries outside of Europe to go and discover this new land? Did east asian countries ever try to colonise the Americas?

Question for you: Can you specify Americas discovery please? I would assume you're talking about Christopher Columbus' voyages, but his voyages were mostly related to Cuba, Santa Domingo, Central America, etc. Leif Ericson discovered Greenland in the late 900's.
