Definitely. In the United States the actions of the Weather Underground were directly inspired by, among other things, an opposition the the United States' involvement in Vietnam. Their actions including several bombings and planned bombings.
The groups that I study, the German left-wing terror group "The Red Army Faction," "The June 2nd Movement" and others believed that their attacks on the German state and US Military facilities and personnel in the very early 1970s was "opening a second front" of the Vietnam War in Germany. This included bombing the US Base in Frankfurt, maiming several and killing an American soldier, bombing the US base in Heidelberg, killing thee soldiers, and lots of bombs left around Berlin (including at the Officer's Club in Berlin where my mother was having lunch in 1971).
