(1) did Spain and France create an alliance together? Like, did they help out each other such as allying their fleets or military campaigns together while fighting other forces (such as the British Navy, or even Pirates?) during the war?
(2) did the British and Dutch create an alliance together? (I read that they created an alliance in Europe), Like, did they help out each other such as allying their fleets or military campaigns together while fighting other forces (such as the Spanish, French, or even Pirates?) during the war?
I researched this topic myself before but couldn't find the specific answers I was looking for, if anyone can answer these with good, detailed answers, I would be very thankful!
Queen Anne's war was what the American Colonies called the war in the Americas (the Second of the "French and Indian Wars") which was a part of the much larger War of the Spanish Succession.
This war was mostly fought in Europe, but it spilled over into the colonial possessions in America and elsewhere.
The British, Dutch and Holy Roman Empire were mostly aligned against the France of Louis XIV in this war, with Spain generally on the side of France (though these alliances were complex, and shifted somewhat through the course of the war).
Anyway, as far as I know, the British and the Dutch did not combine in operations in the Americas (though they did in Europe). If there were any combined operations in the Americas, they would have been very small scale.
