I grew up watching movies and games with katanas and I have always loved history in general. When I was younger I always had an opinion on things I really had no clue about, like that katana is the best sword in the world... Even in Highlander Macleods master (Sean Connery) has a katana and he states that it's the best sword ever made.
I have read that ancient katana making has lost into history and we don't really know how good they were. I searched this question in google first but all I got was arguing about the topic. I have also read that katanas aren't really made for fighting like longsword with samurais having different code of fighting during the ages.
