Hi there, i'm an italian historian and i'm looking for some infos about medieval preaching and the elaboration of sermons for the scholar audience in XIII and XIV centuries. Has anyone everworked on this subject? I've already read some of the International medieval sermon studies publications and i'm searching for new material to beef up my knowledge of this subject. You should start with James Murphy's Rhetoric in the Middle Ages. Also look into the ars praedicandi tradition, which was active during the period you're interested in.
Do you have Davy, Les sermons universitaires parisiens de 1230-1231? It's old (1930s) but there was a much more recent reprint. The Rouses have some good interpretation-of-Davy guidance in one of their books...Preachers, Florilegia, and Sermons, maybe?
I would also go through the bibliography of Scholarly Community at the Early University of Paris. I suspect you will find a lot of stuff focused not on overall sermons to scholars, but rather studies of sermons from a particular doctor, or at a particular university.
