We've been studying it in class, h/e due to a shitty teacher it's been hard to really understand how the Qing dynasty/Manchu's actually modernised China. Any help much appreciated!
This question is broad the point of meaninglessness - if you could narrow it down somewhat I might be able to offer some answers. Modernity is such a broad and subjective term - do you mean technological, political, or some other sort of modernity?
