Why was there such a huge backlash towards disco in the mid 70's? It seems to have gone from being very popular to 'disco sucks' & 'disco is dead' in a very short amount of time.
Just a slight correction. The backlash was towards the end of the '70s. It was manifested most iconically perhaps in the Disco demolition night at Comiskey Park, Chicago (1979).
