Hello everyone! I was just wondering about France and its Revolutionary Calendar adapted in 1793. I am doing a class project on King Louis XVI and am wondering what calendar was used during his rule. Also, when writing a date in the French Revolutionary Calendar, one would write the the day first, then the month and finally the year in relation to 1793 (I, II, III, IV ....). How would someone in the time write in reference to a date before 1793? Thanks guys! France adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1582, so this would have been the calendar used in France during Louis XVI's rule.
Dates in the French Republican Calendar are written day month year (9 Thermidor Year II).
