Have you considered taking this over to a photography subreddit? They might have some ideas on how to confirm that the photos have not been used elsewhere. One idea might be to look at the stock of photo paper they are printed on. At the least, I'd think you would be able to confirm if they are on a paper which would be used for personal photos vs. those which are mass produced and thus likely to have been published.
