Follow up question. Given the large region Russia covers were those who lived in the far eastern parts of Russia (Siberia) more apt to think that the Soviet Union still existed?

Finally, remember the question: We are asking about 1992. Cases before that are irrelevant to the question at hand, so please refrain from posting the same link again.
The nature of the question makes it hard to answer definitively in the negative, but I can only say I've never come across any evidence or even heard any stories that suggest a case like this.
Follow up question - did some people think in 1992 that the CIS was the new Soviet Union? My understanding is that the new Republics' militaries were supposed to be within a common CIS framework, possibly with similar integration in some financial and monetary policy areas. Was it clear in 1992 that these 15 new countries were actually all separate and fully independent, or did people assume there would be some form of integration between the former Soviet Republics?
Acording to the book 'Beyond civilization' there was a small tow in far of Siberia that got visited by some geologists i the 90's and the natives asked who were czar at the time? So supposidly they didn't know of the existance of the Soviet Union.
Anyone know if there's any truth to that claim?
