Were there cases during the second world war where Allied and German troops would've met in a neutral setting, such as Switzerland or Spain? Did regular troops on leave for example ever meet or see each other? Did their diplomats interact on regular basis in the neutral countries?
It was not unheard of for the combatants of two sides to encounter each other down the pub in Ireland when they were on day passes from the POW camp.
