What melody is this? (found in Royal Swedish Opera)

A hard musical charade - can you identify this melody I've found carved in stone in the Royal Swedish Opera / Kungliga Operans in Stockholm. Is it even an actually composed piece of music or just a random set of notes? The stone sculpture is dated 1898. http://imgur.com/a/UkFN8 Thanks!

The funny thing is, when musicians and music lovers have a hand in the artwork, the visually depicted music is generally something very particular they had put in! This is especially true in portraits of musicians, singers, and composers, they often had sheet music painted in showing a piece that was particularly special to them. And that music certainly doesn't look random. I'd guess the statue does feature a snippit from an opera particularly beloved to Sweden circa 1898.

Are you up for an adventure? The person who is most likely to know is whoever is manning their archives. If you really want to know I'd give them a call, you can't be the first person to ask.

It doesn't sound random, but it's nothing I recognize.
