There were 8 million germans that were forced to flee from that territories, but how did Poland go about resettling these territories?
My understanding is that a lot of Polish refugees from former eastern Poland were moved in after the Soviets formalized their ownership of those lands with the US and Britain as had been discussed in a previous conference (I think the Tehran conference?).
I'm not a expert in this subject though, so maybe someone will have a better and more detailed answer.
