IF we assume that Egypt was one of the cradles of our civilization then how come Egyptians were not superior to any other nations that came after them?

Also did a human being 7000 years ago 5000 BCE (Founding of the Empire 0) have similar features to the humans today? Would Egyptians then look different from Egyptians now? Or is 7000 years too short of a period?

I mean they had many advantages over the humans in the North. For example they didn't have to face the elements of winter.
