I can't seem to find a lot on google, besides that scroll. Looking for information on how it rose to prominence. I know the Grand Canal, agriculture and the shifting of the capitals from Nanjing to Beijing helped it, but I can't really find anything on how it's industries worked around that time. I know silk was big for them. Pls help :).
I'm not familiar with sources of Suzhou in the Qing, but if it helps I can give you a primary account of Suzhou during the mid-Ming. I wouldn't expect there to be any drastic changes between Ming and Qing.
