Statistically, how many women voted for the "most handsome" Presidential candidate after women had the right to vote?

I remember my HS history teacher mentioning that when women were first able to vote in a presidential election that they voted for who they thought was more handsome/attractive.

I started thinking about it and I did I quick google search and didn't come up with anything. Statistically do we know for a fact that women voted based on looks and not platform ideas?

This is a great case for asking your HS history "teacher" to provide references for the assertion. The problem with such assertions is that to decisively debunk it requires a survey of all women voters of that era. What a great example of truth-ism. This is why we have to require references for assertions. Otherwise it escalates into I-double-triple-dog-dare-you.
