I know the go-to example of the 1960 Kennedy-Nixon debate, but it seems more happenstance than anything contrived. Instead I'm hoping for a more specific power shift along cultural, generational, ideological, economic, or regional lines.

I'm reasonably sure we're witnessing TV networks beginning to lose narrative control to "the internet" and I'm hoping there's some previous material to compare to and draw insight from.
