I have people telling me that the Murphy didn't complete his translation, but was completed by a Communist-sympathizer instead.
I have others telling me that Murphy is the official English Translation endorsed by the Third Reich.
I also have people telling me that the Mannheim translation is best, yet others telling me that its subpar and full of errors.
And don't even get me started on what I've heard about the Ford Translation...
So, the heck do I read if I want the most authentic experience? (short of the original German of course).
Well, the "most official" version would be the "Stalag" edition, following the Murphy edition. For my own research I'm looking at the American Dugdale abridgement, but that's because I need to see the edition that would have been available to an American that died in 1937.
