This has been nagging me for a while now. One sees wooden ships in films and games coming into port, heading toward the docks, but how did they swivel about to face the proper direction? I assume they would not be under sail-power to maneuver, but no large ships that I am aware of would have had oars. So there we have it. Aye arr.
