I am starting my first semester of student teaching in a few weeks and i have came to the realization that i know nothing about sub-Saharan Africa. I mean if you want to know about Egypt then sure i can do that, but for the rest of the continent i don't really have a clue other than the names i know from playing Civ. I was never really taught about Africa in my history classes so i would like to learn a bit about it so i could work it into my lessons. So I'm looking for some good books, maybe popular history or at least an interesting academic book on it. I would post this on r/booksugestions but i felt like it was better to go to the source on this one.
