While you wait for a specific answer to your question, Have you looked at the "Life at University" section of our FAQ? Not every question listed there is about Harvard but you might be able to extrapolate information from information about other universities.

Even though it does focus on the 19th century instead of the 18th, I'm sure extrapolation can be employed.
