Why and when did we start using "Jove" instead of "Jupiter"?

Jove is an anglicization of the oblique cases of the noun Iuppiter. Only in the nominative and vocative singular is Jupiter's name Iuppiter--in all oblique cases the form is derived from the genitive form, Iovis. Thus in exclamation the proper form is Iovem, in the accusative of exclamation
