I'm a bit of a fan of line warfare and find it very interesting to see it done in movies. Seems to me though that that era of war isn't a very hot topic for movie makers these days, so I was wondering if anyone from this sub could recommend some good cinema depictions of line warfare.
'Waterloo' is a cinematic experience to behold. They used thousands of men and horses to depict some of the most dramatic moments of the battle.
The Stanley Kubrick movie 'Barry Lyndon' features several battles from the 7 years war, and line tactics, albeit briefly.
Gods and Generals is a US civil war movie that has some interesting battle depictions, iirc line battle formations feature prominently in their depiction of the first battle of Manassas.
Also the British tv series, Sharpe, with Sean Nean as the titular character, had numerous battles showing line tactics.
I won't vouch for the historical accuracy of any of these, but they should at least be entertaining.
