In Pulp Fiction, the opening/closing scene depicts two low-tier criminals robbing a restaurant, on the basis that no one's expecting it. After the movie was released, was there an increase in similar robberies? Was it common before?

I suspect this would be incredibly hard to find out - there are few national datasets (assuming we are talking US only), it's all at the county/state level, and I doubt 'restaurant robbery' is even a distinct category within any data that is available.

Less relevant, but this is also right at the limit of this subreddits 20 year rule. IMO it's more of a data question than a history one.
