In keeping with the weekly theme, I've been doing some light Internet reading on Hawaiian sea-mythology and came across some information regarding sharks in native culture and mythology. Is anyone here able to speak more on it, or at least direct me to academic reading? Thanks!

I haven't used this site before, but the University of Hawaii is really trying to cultivate their Hawaiian Studies programs, and that looks like it could potentially be a neat database. However, I'm at work so I can't really poke around it too much.
Here's the website for the School of Hawaiian Knowledge. That might at least get you to the right person/department that could help you find the resources you're looking for if their database doesn't have what you're looking for.
If you're interested in this mythology with respect to the encounter with Captain James Cook, there's an interesting essay by Greg Dening in his book Performances titled "Sharks That Walk on the Land". It should also point you toward some other scholarly sources.
