Hello everyone.
So I've been doing some research for personal knowledge about WW2 and Hitler in general. In school you're taught, Hitler bad, america went in won in Europe, dropped the bomb, and done. I'm becoming fascinated with the politics behind it, how the American Government played Hitler like a fiddle, and important events, strategies, and what Hitler's plans were.
I've found some very interesting things so far, but its all over the place. I'm wondering if someone can link a great website for information or some books to be able to read to learn about what happened.
A World In Arms by Gerhard Weinberg and All Hell Let Loose by Max Hastings are good places to start book wise. If you have any questions in particular, you can always ask our historians!
I'd also recommend [this essay] (http://h-diplo.org/essays/PDF/JMH-Weinberg-SomeMythsOfWWII.pdf) by Gerhard Weinberg, which goes into a number of the myths that have developed about the war and it's history.

May I ask what you mean by that?
Anyways, as a general starter, I'd recommend Richard J Evans The Third Reich trilogy. It is written for the non-historian and gives a very good general overview. For you, especially the third one, The Third Reich at war seems appropriate.
Also Ian Kershaw's New book on Europe between 1918 and 1949 gives good coverage of the era and what lead up to the war.
