I know he was a really great figure, and want to know more about him. I'm looking for a biography of him that captures everything about him. The good and the bad.
You're probably not going to like this, but the best (academic) biographical work on King is a massive three volume set by Taylor Branch which documents more the Civil Rights Movement. King cannot be understood without the context of the men and women working with and around him, so Branch's books are really more than a biography- it's a social history of one of the country's most tumultuous era's. Here are the links:
That said, there are plenty of other (shorter) books that explore King on a more personal level, which may be more what you're looking for. I would point you to Martin Luther King, Godfrey Hodgson (2009). In my opinion, as a junior historian and scholar of 20th century African American history, there has yet to be the authoritative biography on King. I think it will be coming with the next generation of historians, as we begin to shed the notion of King on a pedestal and begin to understand the complexities of his character, his relationship, and his politics.
That said, all biographies of King will tend to replicate the common discourse of the Civil Rights Movement- that King was the mover and shaker of the Civil Rights Movement and he did it the "right way" (i.e. non-violently). Recently, scholars have looked to expand that discourse to think about the lesser known figures and especially the women who challenged the notion that "men led, women organized" in the movement and look at figures who may not have been on the front lines, but definitely made the movement what it was. I definitely recommend these books:
King was an amazing man, and nothing should be taken away from that. But I think even he would say that MLK day should be an opportunity to celebrate and honor everyone who worked for civil rights.
So, I've just had to swing by to approve your thread, since it was auto-removed. There's nothing wrong with your question, but I'm afraid you've been shadowbanned, dude!
