You're assuming that Hitler would have wanted peace at that time and that the allies would have accepted a peace treaty. Looking at it from hindsight, I think it would be normal to assume this, but that is not the case. The taking over and occupation of Poland, France, etc. emboldened him further to move ahead with the Battle of Britain, the Blitz, continued operations in the South Eastern Europe, North Africa and eventually the beginning of Operation Barbarossa. He really had no reason to call for peace and had no intentions to do so, since he was pretty much winning on all fronts at this time. I think history shows that pretty clearly, especially with how the war ended.
