Aside from maybe, just wanting to conquer land, did he have any specific reasons? And what kind of justification, if any, did he give for these actions?
With two exceptions, Napoleon did not invade much of Europe, and in fact had several wars declared on France. Napoleon didn't invade but rather took the war to the enemy. As such I will break down the numerous wars declared upon him.
War of the First Coalition: This is a war declared by Revolutionary France but one that Napoleon participated in and helped end through the defeat of Austria in Italy.
War of the Second Coalition: Another war which Napoleon participated in (and didn't stop by his invasion of Egypt) but Austria didn't stop being antagonistic toward France. Napoleon is still not a political leader of France at this time. However it does end when Napoleon is First Consul of France.
War of the Third Coalition: Britain and France both ignore the Treaty of Aimes. However this was started with Austria invading Bavaria, a member of the Confederation of the Rhine. As such, Napoleon attacks through Bavaria (where the famous Ulm campaign happened) and pushes the Austrians to Moravia where he would destroy the Coalition with the Battle of Austerlitz. It results in a treaty that pulls Tyrol from the Austrians and gifted to the Bavarians and Croatia being pulled away as a French territory. This would also end the Holy Roman Empire.
War of the Fourth Coalition: Prussia joins Russia and Britain to try to stop France. Napoleon is scattered throughout Austrian lands but pulled together to push into modern day Poland and defeating the Prussians at the dual battle of Jena-Auerstadt. It would end at the Battle of Friedland when Napoleon finally defeats the Prussians and Russians and ends with the Treaty of Tilst. Prussia would lose Poland while Russia enters an alliance with France. This is where the Continental System would start and would lead to the creation of the Grand Duchy of Poland.
French Invasion of Spain: This is one of two campaigns where Napoleon declares war on another country. He would attempt to take Spain and gift it to his brother Joseph but in an attempt to replace a mediocre Spanish King and gain further ability of enforcing the Continental System in Portugal. It would of course end in disaster and be an ulcer for French logistics and soldiers.
War of the Fifth Coalition: With Napoleon distracted in Spain, Austria decides to try to strike at Napoleon. It would be one of the few times that Napoleon would falter, losing at Aspern-Essling but eventually pushing to defeat the Austrians at Wagram. This would end with a marriage with Marie Louise, the daughter of the Austrian Emperor Francis I as well as more Austrian lands, giving Galacia to Poland.
The French Invasion of Russia: With word that Russia was entering an alliance with Britain and ending the Continental System, Napoleon would preemptively attack Russia (which was preparing to declare war on Napoleon) but famously would fail.
War of the Sixth Coalition: This is where Napoleon would fall. While starting with only Russia and Britain, most of Europe would eventually turn against Napoleon and would only end when Napoleon abdicates. Oddly enough, this would see the return of Napoleon as a highly gifted tactician. Again, war was declared against France by multiple nations.
War of the Seventh Coalition: This is where the Allies declared War on France simply for letting Napoleon return to power. With limited goals of allowing to stay in power and ensuring the furthering of his dynasty with his son. He would move to destroy the British/Prussian observation forces in order to create breathing space. As usual, it is known that he lost.
Now, of all of these wars, only two would be Napoleon acting as the aggressor. By pushing the strategical aspect of warfare to the enemy, he pushes the burden of the costs onto them but is justified with the fact that war was declared on France.
