A picture by Vincent of Beauvais depicts knights in full plate armor at the Battle of Bouvines. Vincent lived in the early to mid 13th century, well before full plate armor was a thing.

This is an illustration of Vincent de Beauvais' Speculum Historiale (Mirror of History), but it's from a manuscript produced in the early 1400's. The illustrator was using their 'modern' iconography to produce the illustrations. If you follow the image link in Wikipedia, you'll see the following description:

Vincent of Beauvais, Le Miroir Historial (Vol. IV). Philippe II's victory at Bouvines Place of origin, date: Paris, Master of the Cité des Dames (illuminator); c. 1400-1410

The illustrator is the unknown 'Master of the Cité des Dames'.
