Not a lot is known about what happened to the Taino Columbus brought to Spain. Of the ten Taino that Columbus abducted on his first voyage, only six reached Madrid; the other four were too sick to travel and were left behind in Seville. Of those six, only one - Don Diego Colon (not to be confused with Columbus' little brother)- returned with Columbus on the second voyage as his interpreter. As for the rest, Don Juan de Castilla became a servant for the royal family and died in Madrid two years later. A third who was related to Cacique Guacanagaríx was baptized as Ferdinand of Aragon, after the king who served as his godfather. The fate of the others is unknown. If you go looking around for more information about Don Diego Colon, you'll eventually come across The Indian Chronicles by José Barreiro (well, now you definitely will). Be aware that this is a work of historical fiction written in the style of Diego Colon's translated journals. I haven't read it myself, but I've heard some fairly good things about it, if that's something that interests you.
