I'm currently writing a graphic novel that takes place in [a fictional equivalent to] Grand Rapids, Michigan during the Great Depression (specifically 1932-1938). While I've done a lot of research into the time period nationwide, I'm having a lot of difficulty finding resources specific to the location I need. Any suggestions? I'm looking for just about anything but especially stats on immigration, and information about how the depression effected the area.
Do you live in Grand Rapids? Grand Rapids Public Library has a very good local history department. You could also try emailing them.
