Hello! I took this photo when I visited the British Museum 5 years back. Unfortunately I don't remember anything about the photo now. I forgot to take a note of the blurb for the sculpture. I have no idea which god this is or what period it is from. I don't know where exactly to ask this question, but if someone here can help me, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)
Xochipilli, Aztec, 1350-1521. Here's the catalog record, via the BM's online catalog. (I found it by searching for 'seated', which you would expect to be in the item description, and 'mexico', which I guessed was the country of origin.)
When I visit museums, I've now gotten into the habit of photographing the sign after photographing an object, because I know I'll loose my notes if I wrote them down somewhere else!
