I recently read "Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates: The Forgotten War That Changed American History", which told of an interesting bit of history that I was completely unaware of.
Unfortunately, I got the impression that the book had a bit of a conservative bias against Muslim nations. I was wondering if anyone here had read it, and whether there were any interesting departures from known facts. Thanks!

I haven't read this book yet, although it's waiting to be read on my kindle. :)
But if they try and claim that Jefferson hated Muslims, that's pretty ridiculous. Jefferson was a deist and was not a fan of any religion, but he did strongly advocate for freedom of religion for all, which in a very radical move at the time, did include non-whites like Muslims and Hindus.
From Jefferson's autobiography about his protection of freedom of religion: "within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan, the Hindoo, and Infidel of every denomination."
