In school we studied many other nationalist movements but I don't remember ever talking about an Albanian movement to create their own nation.
I've written about the formation of an Albanian national identity before, so will link it here. But the short answer is not really, it kind of happened by accident. Albania largely wanted to stay part of the Ottoman Empire, though with autonomy, but was a victim of Great Power politics.
