I'm Ojibwe and someone claims that this ceremonial drum which is over 100 years old has been touched by the Queen (I'm unsure at the moment of who it was at the time) or some royalty and is lucky to still be around. I have a feeling its false, however I don't know enough to confirm that it is.
Queen Victoria herself never left Britain, so unless it was brought to her in London, it's very unlikely she ever touched it. However, her son King Edward VII, toured Ontario as part of his North American tour in 1860.
Edward VII's son, George V, also toured Canada around 1901 as the Prince of Wales.
George V's son, Edward VIII, the King who abdicated, also toured Canada a few times between 1919 and 1935.
However, I sincerely doubt that drum has ever been touched by a reigning monarch unless, as I said, it was brought to them personally in Britain.
