Because the Finnish language isn't related to the Scandinavian languages (which, I presume, you mean with "nordic"). The Scandinavian languages are a part of the Germanic language family while the Finnish language is part of the Fenno-Ugric language family. If, however, with nordic you mean the area of the Baltic Sea in general, there are a few Fenno-Ugric languages in there, mainly Finnish, Estonian, different Sami languages and Karelian.
