The title pretty much sums up my question, I'm curious as to what classical music was played over the radio, or well known among the population/troops of Germany during the Second World War.
I know that Hitler enjoyed Wagners' music, but there must be a list of composers of music pieces that were generally well known back then.

So it gives you an idea of what you would NOT hear. As for what you would hear, the Reichsmusiktage would give you good examples of what kind of music was being promoted. In the link posted to Goebbels's speech, he specifically mentions Gluck, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Hugo Wolf and Bruckner, but they also promoted and played new music by German composers they considered sufficiently "Aryan", but only composers who wrote in the styles they approved of, as music such as Jazz and Blues, and classical genres like 12 tone or serliasm were not allowed.
