I was looking at the Wikipedia article on the Great Wall and the map they have on the side shows a section of wall that is further north than most of modern Mongolia.
I did some looking but I couldn't figure out what I needed to search to find out about it?
What's the deal with that wall section? It interests me that it's so separated from the rest of the walls.

That wall was built during the Jin dynasty, which was Jurchen people from northern Manchuria - they controlled northern and southern Manchuria as well as China.
They built their wall much further north since they controlled territory much further north and more aimed against the Mongols since they controlled the nomad tribes and states of Manchuria and did not need to keep them out.
