I haven't been able to find the exact timetable for the Diksmuide restoration, but if you look at the process of draining Dutch Polders, the process would be a few years of growing reeds and then ten to fifteen years of growing crops that tolerate some soil salinity. These fields would be in better shape than the typical land reclamation and probably took less time.
