I was only 8 or 9 when that case was going on so not sure of all the details. What were the immediate events that led up to the "low speed" chase? Why didn't he just stay put and cooperate?
By trying to flee like he did, that screams guilty to me.
O J Simpson was mentally distraught the day of the low speed chase in the Bronco. The driver of the Bronco, Al Cowlings, testified that OJ was threatening to kill himself. He had a gun to his head, but Al Cowlings was able to talk him out of doing it. The low speed chase was just an excuse to buy some time and to talk OJ Simpson out of committing suicide. Cowlings was an old friend of OJ. They were teammates for three years on the USC Trojans, the first three years of Cowling's NFL career, with the Buffalo Bills and both men finished their NFL careers with the San Francisco 49er's in 1978-1979.
