I always liked those black and white videos and i am doing a project about the world wars and would like to know where i can find some fotage( lile the ones you see in history shows, black and white etc.).
On the Imperial War Museum online archive! Also, if you know what you're looking for, you can find almost any videos on youtube and simply download the videos from Youtube using a plug-in.
One of my favorite sources for photos is World War II Database. They also have a large number of documents from the era, some of which may be useful if you are looking for primary sources.
The video section of the Internet Archive is full of public domain stuff. We used to buy VCR tapes of instruction movies for how to fly different WW2 planes.
Also look around the Archive text files for different souvenir books, whether the "yearbook" of an Army Air Force camp or "this is where we went and what we did" from an Army railroad unit in Europe. I ran into a picture book of a WW1 PW camp in Britain for German officers that showed their facilities. They have homefront booklets memorializing the contributions of black women or Native Americans to the war effort. The Army had a series of booklets and magazines sitting there, too. I hate myself that I cankt recall the magazine, because I love their regular column of hints and tips sent in by readers on how to handle combat situations.
The place is like a rummage sale from Friends of the Library. Just keep inventing new searches.
