I got really angry and sick reading about Unit 731 and am wondering if there was any point to such barbarism it at all.

And, obviously, pretty much all of their unethical (to say the least) experiments on human beings would definitely not be allowed in today's world (I hope).

Were there any theories that were confirmed, discoveries of new technology, newly found symptoms, etc? Experiments from any branch of science, including psychology?

If so, were human experiments really necessary to achieve them?
