I'm reading an old history book and started thinking that perhaps some of this stuff is out of date and/or wrong. Then again, it doesn't matter to a layman like me if our newfangled dating techniques put the birth of King X a hundred years earlier/later than previously thought.
What would like to know is: have we learned anything new or significant about the Sumerian civilization in the last century that has altered our understanding of it?
I asked a similar question recently and got a good answer: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/3wozf6/what_has_been_learned_about_the_sumerians_since/
