This book also gives a nice (albiet brief) overview of Carthaginian culture as it related to the Punic Wars. It might be a good starting point when looking for more in-depth information.

As for primary sources, there aren't many. I remember the first book commenting that the only written source that survived the city's sack was a book on farming techniques by Hannibal's brother.

I'm sure there's some actual historians of the era floating about on this subreddit that can give you a much more in-depth response...
